The wines in our varietal range celebrate Douglas Green’s inspired journey of exploration across the Cape Winelands in search of the blueprint for his remarkable vintages. Each wine is an individual tip of the hat to this enigmatic leader who had the courage to break with convention and follow his instincts in search of the grapes that would bring to fruition his vision of singular character and style.
Merlot Red Wine
A soft and juicy medium-bodied red that is ready to drink now or within a year or two from vintage. Great for social sipping around the fire, or with sticky ribs, roast lamb, pizza or pasta.
Pinotage Red Wine
Relish extravagant sunny lemon, lime and pineapple fruit aromas and flavours laced with delicious honey and spice in this soft, sweet and fruity blend. Best enjoyed very cold at parties, picnics or with BBQ ribs, chicken and burgers.
Shiraz Red Wine
A well-structured Shiraz that is full yet friendly, allowing for immediate drinking now and potential to soften further for up to 3 years from vintage. Vibrant and fruity on its own or with roast peppered fillet, beef espetadas, venison or ostrich pie, or smoked meats.
Cabernet Sauvignon Red Wine
A supple Cabernet Sauvignon with vibrant fruit and soft tannins allowing for easy drinking on its own or with your favourite sizzling steak, meaty roasts with rich gravy, hearty stews or tomato based Italian food. Drinking well now or within 3 years of vintage.
Merlot Malbec Red Wine
A bright crimson heart with a deep ruby rim. Lashings of crushed summer berries and fleshy plum aromas with supple, succulent, generous ripe berry favours brushed with soft oak spice to a sleek juicy fruit finish.
