Every time I write about Douglas Green wines, I have this vision of an enthusiastic young Viticulturist Oenologist recently graduated from Elsenburg College setting out in 1942 to start his own wine company. He wanted to offer his customers good wine, expressing the grapes from which they were made and at even handed prices. Nothing has changed.

Douglas Green is now a large wine company situated in Wellington with viticulturists sorting the fines grapes, and oenologists making fine wines, sometimes in producer cellars many kilometres away.
